Hello there!! I happen to think we all are a little nosey... i know i am, and i love seeing what's in people's bags. I have particularly enjoyed seeing what's in other people's make-up bags. I wanted to do a make-up edition of my own because it's something that's great to learn from others - what works, what doesn't, etc. I tend to be a little clueless about make-up and do not like to spend a lot on it. I allow myself to spend on it twice a year - spring and fall. There are days when i don't wear any, days i wear a lot, and days when just a lil' will do. I have learned over the years to do and wear whatever feels natural and most comfortable - the notion of taking time out to care for yourself and spend time on yourself is important, whether you like to wear make-up or not. I do know one thing - a lil' mascara and lipgloss can go a long way in making me feel awake and more prepared for the day! Here's what's in my bag this season:
1. Eco Tools Bamboo Bronzer Brush (best and softest brush i've used), 2. Rimmel Volume Accelerator in Extreme Black (love the way the mascara brush coats all my lashes), 3. Rimmel Smokey Noir Eyeshadow (more for nights out - when i have them:), 4. Rimmel Natural Bronzer (keeps that glow long after the summer tan has faded), 5. Cover Girl TruBlend in Translucent Honey (have been using simple Cover Girl Powders since high school), 6. Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Red Dahlia (i have about three of these scattered in different bags - i don't like lipstick, so this is great because it's a lip balm with colour), 7. Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer in Light/Natural (again, i don't like cover-up and this stuff is so conditioning and offers a little tint to give a more natural glow), 8. Annabelle Eyeliner in Four different colours: Black, Brown, Green and Violet, (i like pairing diferrent and complimentary eyeliners with shadow - it's fun) 9. Rimmel Eyeshadow in Urban Green (looks great with the violet eyeliner), 10. Cover Girl Eyeshadow in 'Prom Queen'( each colour pairs nicely with my eyeliner choices), 11. Kiss My Face Sheer Organic Shine Lip Gloss in Natural Mineral Colour (for a bit of shine).
I like fun bags and am a lil' addicted to pouches, purses, bags, etc. The above squirrel pouch is from Paper Sparrow that I got years ago and love it! It carries tweezers, sharperners, etc. and fits perfectly in my larger make-up bag, which is Fossil. Here's a handy tip: for an easy way to map out a make-up purchase - use paint chips. There might not always be exact matches, but you can at least get a sense of what colour palletes work best with your features. Take them with you while you're shopping and see what best matches are offered!
